Alley Bats Baseball

We are excited to announce our new Travel program based out of Glenview, IL!

We understand that there are many programs out there, but we are built differently.

Why, you ask? Because we focus on player development.

At Alley Bats Baseball Club, we provide an environment where players can improve their skills and develop their talent. The coaching staff typically includes former professional coaches and players from league teams who can provide more advanced training to help players take their skills to the next level or prepare for high school baseball.

Player Development is KEY to success

Developing Leaders On and Off the Field Through Purposeful Coaching and Player Growth

  1. Give players the opportunity to play multiple positions throughout the season, boosting their baseball IQ and making them smarter, more versatile athletes.

  2. Commit to weekly practice that hones in on the fundamentals, ensuring continuous growth—even after the season begins. Don’t fall into the trap of only playing games without consistent skill development.

  3. Hold all players accountable by taking away playing time for poor sportsmanship, disrespect, selfishness, and poor choices—regardless of talent level. We believe in consistent standards for everyone on the team.

  4. Encourage players to think for themselves and play aggressively, fostering independence and confidence on the field. We guide, not dictate—empowering them to make smart decisions in the moment.

  5. Encourage continuous self-evaluation by asking players questions that make them think critically about their performance. We listen and seek feedback, creating a two-way dialogue that drives growth.

  6. Maintain a consistent pitching rotation that gives players regular time on the mound, both in games and during practice. This approach helps them refine their delivery, develop pitch control, and strengthen their skills. We prioritize consistent development over sporadic game-time appearances.

  7. When a player makes a mistake, use it as a teaching moment—coach them up, rebuild their confidence, and send them back out there. We believe in learning through experience, not punishing with lost playing time.

  8. Foster a team environment built on sportsmanship, respect, compassion, leadership, and positivity, where every player supports and believes in one another as equals. We avoid division based on talent, skill, or who a player’s parents are—everyone is treated with fairness and respect.

  9. Build a team of leaders by leading through example, motivating, inspiring, and encouraging players to demonstrate leadership both on and off the field—towards teammates, opponents, umpires, fans, and in everyday life. We don’t tolerate poor behavior in adversity, favoritism based on ability, or belittling players when things don’t go as expected.

  10. Development is crucial when it comes to shaping the leadership of our youth. As adults, both at home and on the field, we must continuously refine our leadership, evaluate our approach, and keep the bigger picture in mind. Baseball is about more than just the game—it has the potential to be one of the most powerful life coaches we can offer.

  11. Let’s shift our focus from being blinded by the "WIN" to prioritizing the development of individuals through baseball.
